PROFILE
Rose Orebo is a visionary Christian leader, community advocate, and Co-Founder of Shalom Christian Centre, where she plays a key role in strategic planning, vision casting, organizational development, and advancing the Centre’s mission of transforming the lives of vulnerable children and families.
Together with her late husband, Rev. Felix Orebo, Rose also co-founded the Suba Bible Translation and Literacy (BTL) Project, born from their commitment to making the Word of God accessible while promoting
literacy and community empowerment.

HER JOURNEY AND CALLING
Rose’s vision for serving vulnerable children was profoundly shaped in 2000, during her involvement in Bible translation and literacy work. She witnessed the devastating effects of the HIV/AIDS pandemic, including the loss of parents, increasing numbers of orphaned children, school dropouts, child labour, poverty, and vulnerability to exploitation.
What began as an act of compassion—opening their own home to provide shelter and care for vulnerable children—developed into a deeper calling to establish a dedicated children’s ministry. This vision ultimately contributed to the establishment and growth of Shalom Christian Centre.
Rose remains committed to creating an environment where vulnerable children receive food, shelter, clothing, education, protection, care, spiritual nurture, emotional support, dignity, and opportunities to develop their God-given potential.

She believes every child deserves a safe and loving environment, quality education, the opportunity to discover their potential, and the chance to become a responsible and productive member of society.
