Rose Orebo is the co-founder of Shalom Christian Centre, where she plays a key role in strategic planning, vision casting, and advancing the organization’s mission. Alongside her husband, Rev. Felix Orebo, she also co-founded the Suba Bible Translation and Literacy (BTL) Project.

Their vision was shaped in the year 2000 while working in Bible translation and literacy, when they witnessed the devastating impact of the HIV/AIDS pandemic on their community. The crisis left many children orphaned, out of school, and vulnerable to child labor and exploitation. What began as an effort to shelter children in their own home soon grew into a calling to establish a dedicated children’s home—one focused not only on basic care, but also on quality education and spiritual nurture.

Rose’s work is driven by a commitment to breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering children to become responsible, productive individuals capable of rebuilding their lives and communities.
